Fleas are wingless, blood-sucking insects that feed on dogs, cats, humans and other species. Fleas prefer dog and cat hosts, but in the absence of a preferred host will use humans or other available animals as a host. Bites frequently occur around the waist, ankles, armpits, and in the bend of the elbows and knees.
Once fleas are established, eliminating them requires persistence. The problem will continue until the fleas are eliminated. The objective of our treatment is to break the flea 4 stage life cycle by treating the home, the pets, and the outside environment. Home foggers and flea collars are not always effective. Let our certified team of technicians make sure the job is done right.
All of the different stages of the flea life cycle are usually present when a flea problem exists. Our treatment will have an immediate affect on fleas in the egg, larva & adult stages, as well as a residual effect on pupa & newly hatched adults when they emerge from the pupal stage.
Treatment can be applied as a preventative measure to stop a flea infestation before it happens. Flea control is difficult for pet owners to implement because two things must be done: (1) treat the pet and (2) treat the premises. Pet treatment alone is not sufficient because the animal quickly becomes re-infested from untreated premises.
Before your treatment:
Vacuum – all rugs, carpets and furniture. Then seal & dispose of the vacuum bag in an outside receptacle.
Clean & Clear – all floors, including closets & under beds.
Sweep & Mop – all tile, vinyl, and concrete floors.
Pets – take pets for a professional flea bath while your home is being treated. Pets cannot remain in the home during treatment. (fish bowls & aquariums may remain if properly covered & the aerator is shut off during treatment(, ask your technician for specific instructions.
Pet Bedding – wash or dispose of all pet bedding. If laundering, wash pet bedding separately.
Plants - do not need to be removed and can remain in your home.
